About Me
My name is Jeannette and I teach under the name Apollo Learning. Apollo Learning came about during the lockdown of 2020, filling the need for affordable quality learning for those children that were falling behind in the school system.

I offer extra English and Maths lessons from my home in Faerie Knowe.

I am able to adapt to any curriculum, as my approach is about understanding the concepts taught within these frameworks.
​
I like to start with an informal assessment, and then tailor make the learning experience to the students needs and learning style. I'm passionate about getting the learners engaged, and creating those positive connections in the brain. There is no one size fits all approach, but every child wants to learn. Some just need to be shown that they can.

Tutoring Options
English is taught using a holistic top down approach. Challenges and problem areas are identified in the learner's reading, writing and comprehension. The language, grammar and phonics learnt within this context will have more relevance to the learner, and result in an overall improvement in all their language work.

Mathematics
Grade 1 to Grade 9
With Mathematics as one of my majors, I am qualified to teach up to Grade 9
On many occasions, a learner that is struggling in the more senior grades, is struggling due to limited understanding of the core concepts, covered in the lower grades. I like to assess the learner through an informal assessment, to identify any gaps and make sure core concepts are covered and understood completely.
